Pulling no punches, Prof Prah a pre-eminent pan Africanist scholar, thinker and author, observes that given his (Sobukwe’s) ‘towering political stature, outstanding contribution and decisive role in setting Africanist agenda for South Africa’s future, it is astonishing that so little is discussed about his life, work, and ideas.’ He goes on to say the apartheid regime ‘did its utmost to impose and enforce statutory silence about Sobukwe. But like the cork pushed under water this was strategically an impossible mission.’
